Get Involved with the Traverse City Elks
The Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks is a volunteer service organization. We have many ways for members to get involved in both our lodge and the Traverse City community. We’ve outlined many of them below.
Becoming an active member of the Traverse City Elks Lodge is simple. All you have to do is read the list below, see where you might best fit in, then call the Secretary’s Office and let us know you’d like to volunteer. We’ll then point you to the right committee head or event coordinator.
Join Our Lodge
The first step to becoming active with the Traverse City Elks is to join our lodge. For more information on how to join the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks:

Come to Our Bi-Weekly Meetings
Everyone has gone to at least one Elks meeting, when they were initiated. We urge you to come back. Everyone is encouraged to attend our bi-weekly meetings.
Our bi-weekly meetings are also a great way to meet the people that oversee the lodge’s business and get involved as a leader in the lodge.
Become an Elks Officer or Trustee
Becoming an Officer or Trustee of the Traverse City Elks is one of the best, and most rewarding ways to get involved with the Traverse City Elks. As the leaders of our organization, the lodge officers preside over the lodge, perform the initiation of new members and help facilitate the various activities of the lodge.
The Lodge Trustees oversee and manage the day to day affairs of our restaurant and club facility.
To become a lodge officer simply inquire with one of the existing lodge officers, the Exalted Ruler of the lodge secretary. We’re always looking for new lodge officers!
Join an Elks Committee
There are numerous volunteer opportunities within our committees. These groups oversee specific aspects of our lodge and help maintain our relationship with the state and national levels of Elkdom. To join a committee, simply contact the lodge secretary and let them know that you would like to contribute.
Please visit our Elks Committee Page to find a list of the various committees with brief descriptions of their functions. To volunteer, just find one you would like to work on, then contact the lodge secretary and let them know you would like to offer you help.
