In addition to our regular meetings, several events are planned for March:
On Saturday, March 10th, the Lodge will host the District Ritual Competition.
On Saturday, March 17th, a St. Patrick’s Day celebration will be held.
On Saturday, March 24th, The Annual Awards Night Banquet will recognize several outstanding members of the Lodge.
On Saturday, March 31st, the Installation of Officers will be conducted for the 2012-2013 Lodge year. A dinner and dance will follow.
January 31st, 2012Lodge Wins a Silver Star
At the Lodge meeting held on December 21st, Past State President Leon Kaiser presented a Silver Star Plaque to Exalted Ruler Hugh Hall for the Lodge year ending last March. The Star Lodge Program is designed to recognize those Lodges that have excelled in achieving the goals set by Grand Lodge and the State Association. Each Lodge works toward a standard, they are not grouped by size, nor do they compete against one another. There are 17 categories and 70 individual goals. Having achieved over 80% of those goals, Traverse City Lodge was awarded a Silver Star.
January 31st, 2012Support Major Project
Two special events are planned for members in January.
On Tuesday, February21st, Lodge members and guests will have another opportunity to support Michigan Elks Major Project. A special tw0-for-one dinner is being offered featuring slow roasted braised beef, baked chicken, smashed red skin potatoes, vegetable and desserts; all for $13.00 each or two for the same price.
Major Project funds special needs children and is made possible by member donations. The Lodge is pleased to report that 26 cases have been funded so far this year. We are nearing our goal and need your continued support.
Everyone is asked to bring in their full 365 banks. Those wishing to contribute $43.60 will be recognized every month for the next year in our bulletin.
January 31st, 2012Super Bowl Party – February 5th
Get ready for some FOOTBALL!!!! The Lodge Lounge will be open on Super Bowl Sunday beginning at 4:30 p.m. and closing after the game is completed. There will be a nice combo tray and mexican dip with chips. There will also be a potluck if you wish to bring a dish to pass. Special drinks prices will be offered too! The game begins at 6:00 p.m. so come on down and enjoy some great footbal with us.
January 31st, 2012Valentine’s Day Dinner and Dance
Members and guests are invited to a special Valentine’s Day dinner and dance on Saturday, February 11, 2012. The doors will open at 6:00 p.m. for cocktails. There will be selected plated dinners and a delicious assorted dessert bar. Music will be provided by Woody & The Woodsters beginning at 8:00p.m. The price is $39.95 per couple or $20.00 each.
